Nice idea for a book. These are one of the most prominent designs in someones life I think. The first big AND personal project that you have to execute. So you have to think rethink and spend a lot of time polishing the details. \'Cause you know - the most whimsical client it\'s you.

BTW Good that some people have access to design schools nearby.

Good times! This is good stuff, especially for students like me who want to know what really great design students produce.

As for my student portfolio? Well it is still growing but here are some of my favs..

One of my favorite project was done in response to an information visualization brief, it\'s a series of generative posters displaying all the typefaces installed on my Mac – sized / rotated and placed according to various type parameters:

What a great book! I\'ll have to save some cash for it.

I\'m completing my fourth year of a media program. In my image production class we were asked to pick a skateboard brand and design 6 potential decks for a new series and an accompanying branding guideline. I thought that was pretty cool. It involved a bit of research but had creative flexibility.

One of my only student pieces to make it into my current portfolio was my typeface design: http://fullyfunctional.ca/#other

...maybe it should be taken out ;)

My favourite project from uni was a brief entitled \'Celebrate the Ordinary\'. We were given a list of ordinary objects, from which we had to pick one object, and then make it seem extra-ordinary, in whatever way we thought best. The brief was really open, and everybody came up with completely different ideas.

For my entry I celebrated the umbrella, and made an animation all about the life of a humble umbrella named Colin. Watch it here:
